    • Sequence

    • Sequence Name

    • PTX005
    • Description

    • 12-mer peptide
    • Activity

    • Antibacterial(bacterial membranes)
    • Medical use

    • Broad-spectrum antimicrobial;Antiendotoxin
    • Stage of Development

    • Preclinical
    • Comments

    • In addition to targeting bacterial membranes, PTX002 and PTX005 neutralise endotoxin in the blood and may prove effective in treating sepsis.Preliminary studies in mouse infection models, using a lethal dose of P. a e r u g i n o s a, showed a fivefold increase in survival in treated animals (71%) compared with control animals (14%).
