Comments Information
Function
- Has an antimicrobial activity. Causes a rapid aggregation of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, but the antimicrobial activity is not correlated with the capacity to aggregate bacteria.
Tissue specificity
- Expressed in tubers, stems, flowers, shoot apex and leaves, but not in roots or stolons.
Induction
- Locally up-regulated by abscisic acid, wounding and infection with compatible fungus. Down-regulated by gibberellic acid or infection with virulent bacteria. No responses to ethylene or abiotic stresses.
PTM
- Six disulfide bonds may be present.
