Has weak antimicrobial activity against the Gram-positive bacterium M. luteus A270 (MIC=83 μM) but not against S. aureus ATCC 29213 and S. epidermidis ATCC 12228. Inactive against the Gram-negative bacteria P.aeruginosa ATCC 14502, E.coli ATCC 25922 and E.coli SBS 363. Has no hemolytic activity against human erythrocytes at the highest concentration tested (125 μM).##Introduction
