- In addition to targeting bacterial membranes, PTX002 and PTX005 neutralise endotoxin in the blood and may prove effective in treating sepsis.Preliminary studies in mouse infection models, using a lethal dose of P. a e r u g i n o s a, showed a fivefold increase in survival in treated animals (71%) compared with control animals (14%).
