Comments Information
Function
- Has antimicrobial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and the yeasts. Also has a strong hemolytic activity against rabbit erythrocytes. Causes paralysis, but is not lethal when injected into insect (Musca domestica) larvae.
Tissue specificity
- Expressed by the venom gland.
